About Jenny Joseph
Jenny Joseph was an English poet, born on May 7, 1932. She is best known for her popular 1961 poem “Warning” and has become one of Britain’s most-loved poets. In addition to “Warning,” she also achieved acclaim for her poetry collections including Unlooked-for Season and Rose in the Afternoon.
Joseph began her literary career by publishing her first poems in the 1950s and also contributed to publications such as The Oxford Mail and The Bedfordshire Times early on. She later worked as a journalist in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Born in England, Joseph lived in Birmingham before moving to Oxford where she studied at St. Hilda’s College.
