Jennette McCurdy is a singer, director, writer, and former actress born on June 26th, 1992 in Long Beach, California. She is best known for her roles as Sam and Melanie Puckett on the Nickelodeon shows iCarly and Sam & Cat. In addition to her television work, she also appeared in TV movies such as Fred: The Movie and Swindle.
McCurdy embraced music with her 2011 single “Generation Love,” which reached number 44 on the U.S. Country chart. She has showcased her talents beyond acting and singing by authoring the New York Times best-selling memoir ‘I’m Glad My Mom Died’.
Harrison Ford’s performance in Star Wars: A New Hope inspired McCurdy to pursue acting. Her early credits include appearances on Malcolm in the Middle and Lincoln Heights before gaining popularity through her prominent roles in Nickelodeon series.
In addition to being an accomplished actress and musician, McCurdy won a Kids’ Choice Award in 2012. More recently, she expanded into podcasting by launching the Empty Inside podcast in July of 2020.
