About Jena Irene
Jena Irene, born on July 13, 1996 in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is a pop singer who gained recognition as a contestant on the thirteenth season of American Idol. She made history by becoming the first female Wild Card contestant to make it into the show’s finale and finished as runner-up.
Prior to her success on American Idol, Jena Irene was a student at North Farmington High School and also performed in a band called Infinity Hour before its disbandment in February 2013.
In April 2015, she signed with Original 1265 Recordings, an independent Detroit label. In addition to her television stint and signing a record deal, Jena Irene released her debut EP titled Innocence in April of 2016.
She grew up in Farmington Hills with her parents George and Julie Asciutto.
