Jeanne Pruett, born on January 30, 1937 in Alabama, is a celebrated country singer who gained recognition as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She achieved success with her hit single “Satin Sheets,” released in 1973. Before pursuing her music career, Pruett was part of a large family and began singing during high school. Prior to her musical endeavors, she worked as a secretary at Marty Robbins’ publishing company.
Notably, Jeanne Pruett received three nominations for the 1973 CMA Awards: Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Single of the Year for her iconic record “Satin Sheets.” In addition to her professional success, she married guitarist Jack Pruett in the 1950s and relocated to Nashville in 1956 where they raised their family while establishing their careers in music.
