About Jeanne Beker
Jeanne Beker, born on March 19, 1952, in Toronto, Canada is a Canadian journalist known for her fashion-themed books such as Strutting It!: The Grit Behind the Glamour and Jeanne Unbottled: Adventures in High Style. She gained popularity as the host of CTV network’s FashionTelevision program and also writes a column for the Toronto Star.
Before entering journalism, Beker appeared in the late 1960s sitcom Toby. She furthered her skills by studying at York University and taking mime classes in Paris before returning to Canada to work with CBC Radio as an entertainment reporter.
In addition to her successful career in media, she introduced her own clothing line “Edit by Jeanne Beker” in 2010. Born to Polish Holocaust survivors in Toronto, Ontario, she was married to radio host Bob Magee with whom she has two daughters.
