Emmy award-winning actress Jean Smart is best known for her roles as Charlene Frazier Stillfield on the CBS sitcom Designing Women, Lana Gardener in Frasier and Regina Newley in Samantha Who?. She was recently cast in a lead role for another FX show Legion, and had season long roles in FOX’s 24 and FX’s Fargo. Her work in the 2000 Broadway revival of The Man Who Came to Dinner earned her a Tony Award nomination. Before becoming an actress, she graduated college and appeared in many stage performances in Seattle and New York City. She has been married to Richard Gilliland since 1987; they have one biological son (born 1989) and an adopted daughter (2009). They also have a child named Connor Douglas Gilliland. Jean has worked with Neil Simon on The Odd Couple II.
