About Jean Bartik
Jean Bartik (1924-12-27) was an American computer programmer who is best known for her work on the ENIAC computer, which was the first general purpose computer.
Before fame, she attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers College and the University of Pennsylvania. In 2008, she received a fellowship from the Computer History Museum for her work with ENIAC.
Bartik grew up in Gentry County, Missouri, and was married.
