About Jay du Plessis
Jay du Plessis, born on September 11, 1977 in South Africa, is a pop singer known for his work as the frontman of the South African group Eden. He has also had a successful solo career and has performed with well-known acts such as The Corrs, Ronan Keating, and Westlife. In addition to his musical achievements, he won a local GMT Award for Best Pop Album.
Prior to his music career, du Plessis started out in musical theatre in 1996 and made his debut as the lead singer in the musical Let’s Rock in 1999. His band Eden received recognition by winning two Tempo Awards by Huisgenoot magazine for Favorite Pop Group and Favorite Pop Album. Additionally, they won Best Pop Album at the South African Music Awards (SAMA) for their album “Eden.”
Born Jaco du Plessis but known by his stage name Jay, he hails from South Africa where he resides with his wife Mia and their four sons.
