About Janey Godley
Janey Godley is a Scottish comedian, known for her bestselling autobiography “Handstands in the Dark” and one-woman stage pieces like “Good Godley!” and “The Point of Yes.” Born on January 20, 1961, she was nominated for the Scotswoman of the Year honor in 2006. In addition to her work as a comedian, she also worked as a journalist with a weekly column for The Scotsman.
Early in her career, Godley established Jesters, a comedy club in Glasgow. She gained fame after a series of comedy performances in New Zealand earned her several award nominations in 2002. Notably, she performed “Jane Godley is Innocent” at a high-security prison in Scotland in 2005.
Godley grew up in Glasgow and married into a prominent gangster clan during her late teens. She has one daughter named Ashley Storrie with whom she began hosting a popular podcast from 2010 onward.
