About Janet Flanner
Janet Flanner was an American writer and journalist who achieved fame as the Paris correspondent for The New Yorker magazine from 1925 to 1975. Born on March 13, 1892, in Indiana, she attended the University of Chicago for two years before leaving to work as a film critic. She also wrote under the pen name “Genêt” and published one novel titled The Cubical City. Flanner married William “Lane” Rehm in 1918, but they mutually divorced in 1926.
