Janet Fielding, born on September 9th, 1953 in Australia, is a television actress known for her portrayal of Tegan Jovanka in the popular series Doctor Who during the early 1980s. She also made guest appearances on Shelley in 1982 and Minder in 1984.
Prior to her fame, Fielding debuted on television in an episode of Hammer House of Horror in 1980. Following her acting career, she worked as a talent agent and administrator for Women in Film and Television UK.
Fielding was born Janet Claire Mahoney and grew up in Brisbane, Australia. She was married to British journalist and biographer Nicholas Davies from 1982 to 1991.
