About Jana Brike
Jana Brike (born August 29, 1980) is a Latvian painter and visual artist known for her figure paintings in oil on canvas. In addition to painting, she has explored drawing, animation, mixed media sculpture, and installation work. With over 150,000 followers on Instagram, Brike shares a diverse range of artworks with her audience.
She studied academical painting at the Art Academy of Latvia and earned her M.A. in 2005. Her first group exhibition was held in 1997 at the Vecriga gallery in Latvia. Brike gained recognition when she was accepted to participate in the StArt art fair in Strasburg, Switzerland.
Brike’s work has been featured in international press outlets including Buzzworthy, BSC News, Stated Mag, and Stadtgefulster. She was born and raised in Riga, Latvia.
