Jan Brett is an acclaimed children’s author born on December 1, 1949 in Norwell, Massachusetts. She has received a lifetime achievement award from the Boston Public Library and her books have appeared multiple times on The New York Times Children’s Picture Book Bestseller List.
Prior to gaining recognition for her work, Brett published her first couple of books titled Fritz and the Beautiful Horses and Annie and the Wild Animals. Some of her most notable works include The Hat, The Mitten, and The Three Snow Bears.
Brett was born in Norwell, Massachusetts and is married to Joe Hearne.
