About Jacqueline Ceballos
Jacqueline Ceballos is a civil rights leader, best known for her feminist activism. She was born on September 8, 1925, in Louisiana.
Ceballos is notable for heading the National Organization for Women’s New York office and founding the Veteran Feminists of America group. Before her activism, she studied vocal music at Southwestern Louisiana Institute and pursued a career as an opera performer in New York. Additionally, she opened an opera company called El Teatro Experimental de la Opera in Colombia.
In the early 21st century, Ceballos relocated to Phoenix, Arizona to be near her daughter Michele Ceballos who is a dancer. She grew up with six siblings in Mamou, Louisiana as the child of Adele Domas and Louis Michot. Her marriage to Alvaro Ceballos produced four children.
