Iyanla Vanzant was born on September 13, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York. She is a renowned motivational speaker and author who is well known for hosting the television series Fix My Life and Iyanla.
Prior to her rise to prominence as a TV show host, Vanzant graduated from Virginia Union University and was an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
She has been recognized for her influence within the African American community by being named one of Ebony Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Black Americans.
Vanzant is also a mother to two daughters, Gemmia and Nisa.
