About Ivana Spanovic
Ivana Spanovic is a Serbian long jumper who made history in 2013 when she won the bronze medal at the Outdoor World Championships, becoming the first ever track and field athlete from her country to win a medal there. Since then, she’s continued to add more impressive accolades to her resumé; most notably winning gold medals at both the 2015 European Indoor Championships and 2016 European Championships. Ivana started competing internationally as early as 2005, and went on to grab gold at the 2008 World Junior Championships, which earned her Serbia’s Best Young Athlete of that year title. She also represented Serbia at both the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. Her incredible success has been recognized by Serbia’s Olympic Committee twice; they named her Sportswoman of the Year in 2013 and 2015. Ivana is from Belgrade where she grew up with her parents Ljubisa and Vesna Spanovic as well as brother Nemanja., while Brittney Reese took home gold for long jump during 2012 Olympics.
