About Isla St Clair
Isla St Clair is a Scottish folk singer born on May 2, 1952. She gained recognition for her folk albums such as “Isla” in 1979 and “Inheritance” in 1993. In addition to her musical career, she co-hosted the BBC game show The Generation Game and received the Pye Colour Television Award for TV Personality of the Year.
Before her rise to fame, Isla St Clair began her performing career with the Salvation Army in northeast Scotland. In addition to her music endeavors, she co-produced a documentary about Highland bagpipes titled “When the Pipers Play” in 1998.
Born Isabella Margaret Dyce, Isla has ties to poetry due to her mother’s profession as a poet and songwriter named Zetta Sinclair.
