About Iona Brown
Iona Brown was a renowned classical violinist and conductor, born on January 7, 1941 in Salisbury, England. She gained recognition for her performances with the Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
In 1987, Brown assumed the role of music director for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. Before embarking on her professional career, she studied music at the Salisbury Cathedral School.
As a testament to her contributions to music, she was honored as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1986 and received a Knight of First Class Merit title from the king of Norway in 1991. At the time of her passing, she was married to Bjorn Arnils, her second husband.
