Inoj, born Ayanna Porter on November 27, 1976 in Madison, Wisconsin, is an American R&B singer. She rose to fame in the late 1990s for her covers of popular songs such as Cyndi Lauper‘s “Time After Time” and Ready for the World’s “Love You Down.” In addition to her own music career, she has also written songs for notable artists including Janet Jackson and Billy Crawford.
Before gaining recognition as a solo artist, Inoj was a member of the group Spellbound during her college years. Her background vocals can be heard on Janet Jackson‘s song “My Baby.”
