About Inna Shevchenko
Inna Shevchenko, born on June 23, 1990 in Ukraine, is a prominent civil rights leader known for her participation in the radical feminist group FEMEN. She has been involved in organizing numerous topless protests aimed at raising awareness about the damaging impact of patriarchal society.
Prior to gaining fame as a feminist activist, Inna earned an honors degree in journalism from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and worked at the Mayor of Kiev’s press office. In 2012, she was recognized as one of Madame Figaro magazine’s “20 Iconic Women of the Year.”
Shevchenko hails from Kherson, Ukraine and was raised alongside her sister by their father who served as a soldier.
