Iman Abdulmajid, born on July 25, 1955 in Mogadishu, Somalia, is a Somali high fashion model and cosmetic entrepreneur. Known for her successful brand Iman Cosmetics, she has also ventured into acting with occasional roles. By 2010, Iman Cosmetics had been making annual profits exceeding $25 million. She moved to the United States after being discovered by a photographer at the age of 20.
In addition to her success in business and modeling, Iman is also an author of two books: “I Am Iman” (2001) and “The Beauty of Color” (2005). In 1992, she married David Bowie; the couple remained together until his passing in 2016. They have two daughters named Alexandria and Zulekha.
