About Ilse Maria Olivo
Ilse Maria Olivo (born November 27, 1965) is a Venezuelan-born world music singer known for her time as a member of the group Flans. The band rose to prominence in the 1980s with their albums Luz y Sombra, 20 Millas, and Adios. After the group disbanded in 1990, she embarked on a successful solo career.
Prior to her musical career, Olivo studied at Universidad Anahuac before joining Flans when she was 20 years old. She has also made appearances on the show Maria Isabel in 1997 and worked as a TV host for various programs. In addition, she and Flans reunited for tours in both 1999 and 2005.
Born to Oscar Oliva and Ilse Schweinfurth in Venezuela, Olivo acquired Mexican citizenship at age 18. She is also a mother of two sons.
