Iliza Shlesinger, born on February 22, 1984 in New York City, New York, is a well-known comedian. She rose to fame by winning the sixth season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. From 2011 to 2013, she hosted the CBS dating show Excused and later starred in her own late-night show called Truth and Iliza in 2017.
Prior to her successful career as a comedian, Shlesinger began her collegiate studies at the University of Kansas before transferring to Emerson College in Boston, where she studied film and was also part of a sketch comedy troupe. Her foray into stand-up comedy commenced after moving to Los Angeles post-graduation.
Shlesinger’s first comedy special War Paint debuted on Netflix in 2013 followed by Freezing Hot in 2015.
Born in New York City and raised in Dallas, Texas; Shlesinger has family ties with younger brother Ben as well as half-siblings Brad and Emily. Additionally, she has a dachshund named Blanch. In 2018, she tied the knot with Noah Galuten. The couple welcomed their first child together named Sierra Mae on January 13th, 2022 while expecting their second child together due in February 2024.
