Hope Lange was an American movie actress born on November 28, 1933, in Redding, Connecticut. She achieved fame for her role in the film Peyton Place, which earned her an Academy Award nomination in 1958.
Following this success, she portrayed Hope Plowman in The Young Lions the next year. Lange began her career by singing in the play Life, Laughter and Tears in 1942 and came from a family with a strong theatrical background.
Lange’s career spanned five decades during which she became well-known for her roles across various films and television programs. Her first husband was Don Murray, whom she met on the set of the 1956 film Bus Stop.
