Holly Smale, born on December 7, 1981, in England, is a renowned young adult author. She is best known for her award-winning Geek Girl series which secured both the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and the Leeds Book Award.
Prior to her literary career, during her teenage years, Smale briefly worked as a fashion model. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in literature and a master’s degree in Shakespearean studies from the University of Bristol. Before gaining fame as an author she also taught English classes in Japan.
After extensive traveling across Asia and Australia, Holly returned to London where she settled down. She has shared insights into her family life by featuring her niece on her Instagram.
