About Hibari Misora
Hibari Misora was a Japanese pop singer born on May 29, 1937, in Yokohama, Japan. She is recognized as a cultural icon in Japan and has sold over 68 million records during her career. Some of her famous songs include “Kawa no Nagare no Yo ni.” Notably, she is also a recipient of the Medal of Honor.
Before rising to fame, Misora began singing at a young age and performed for her father at a World War II send-off party in 1943. Her talent quickly gained recognition, and she later became the first woman to receive the People’s Honor Award. In her personal life, Misora was married to actor Akira Kobayashi from 1962 to 1964.
