About Helo Pinheiro
Helo Pinheiro (born July 7, 1945 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Brazilian TV show host and former model. She gained fame as the co-host of the FOX Bem Simples show Being Woman in 2012, alongside her daughter Ticiane. Notably, she was also featured as a Brazilian Playboy Playmate in both 1987 and 2003. In addition to her television career, she launched her own fashion brand called Helo Pinheiro by Amarras in 2001.
Prior to her television and modeling career, Pinheiro rose to prominence when she became the inspiration for the song “The Girl From Ipanema” after being spotted walking on the beach in 1962 at the age of 17. Her presence inspired songwriters who went on to write one of Brazil’s most iconic songs.
Pinheiro has made appearances on reality shows such as The Amazing Race and America’s Next Top Model. She married Fernando Abel Mendes Pinheiro in 1966, with whom she has four children – Ticiane, Kiki, Jo, and Fernando Mendes Junior.
