About Heather Avis
Heather Avis (born November 11, 1980) is a blogger, writer and public speaker from California. She is known for sharing her perspectives on God, adoption and motherhood to children with Down syndrome through her widely praised blog, The Lucky Few. In March 2017, she published her first book titled The Lucky Few: Finding God’s Best in the Most Unlikely Places.
Avis attended Rim of the World High School and Sonoma State University before working as an education specialist and eventually transitioning to a full-time stay-at-home mom.
Her work has led to appearances on major platforms such as The Today Show, The Liturgists Podcast and The Shauna Niequist Podcast.
She is married to Josh Avis and together they have adopted three children named Macyn, Truly and August.
