Haku is a Mexican artist and illustrator who has become an Instagram star. She has designed work for the popular video game Gears of War Ultimate Edition as well as collaborated with the heavy metal band Slipknot among others. She studied integral design at the Design School of the National Institute of Fine Arts but later dropped out to become a full-time artist. On Instagram, she has over 80000 followers and counting. Haku was born Mariana Villanueva but is better known on social media by her moniker. Art has always been an interest of hers due to her parents’ background; growing up, she attended numerous art expositions and workshops. When she was 16, her father passed away. In addition to Slipknot, Haku has also worked with other notable artists such as Shawn Crahan and Paul Gray.
