About Habiba Ghribi
Habiba Ghribi, born on April 9, 1984 in Tunisia, is a renowned Tunisian runner known for her prowess in middle and long distance events. She has made a name for herself as a specialist in the 3000 meters steeplechase and has represented Tunisia at several Olympic games.
Prior to gaining international recognition, Ghribi launched her career by participating in Cross Country events. Her breakthrough came at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in 2000 when she was just fifteen years old. In 2005, she competed in her first World Championships in Athletics held in Helsinki and finished eighth.
Notably, Ghribi achieved significant success by clinching gold medals at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the 2011 World Championships in Daegu – both victories were secured in the grueling 3000 meter steeplechase event.
She hails from Kairouan, Tunisia and is happily married with a daughter as evidenced by a photo shared on Instagram in July of 2019.
