Gwen Taylor (born February 19, 1939) is a British TV actress known for her recurring roles on popular series such as Barbara, Heartbeat and Coronation Street. Hailing from Derby, England, she has also appeared in notable films including Life of Brian (1979) and The Lady in the Van (2015).
Before embarking on her acting career, Taylor worked in the banking industry. Her professional acting debut took place in a production of Jack and the Beanstalk at Derby Playhouse.
One of her most acclaimed roles was as Rita Simcock on the comedy series A Bit of a Do, for which she earned a nomination for BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress.
Taylor married playwright Graham Reid.
