Gurlej Akhtar is an Indian pop singer born on May 11, 1987, in Ludhiana, India. She is best known for her Punjabi songs and has gained recognition as a playback singer with notable appearances in films such as Jawani Zindabaad (2010), Hashar (2008), and Guddiyan Patole (2019).
Akhtar began her singing career in 2004 when she collaborated with fellow singer Sukhwinder Sukhi. She attended Punjab University before embarking on her musical journey.
Notably, she met her husband Kulwinder Kally while they both served as judges on a reality singing competition series.
