About Grecia Colmenares
Grecia Colmenares, born on December 7, 1962 in Venezuela, is a renowned soap opera actress. She achieved international fame in the 1980s with the success of her show Topacio, which was the first Spanish-language soap opera to be translated for American audiences. Colmenares started her acting career after convincing her mother to take her to open auditions for a soap opera in Venezuela as a young child. Her breakthrough role came at age 11 in the telenovela Angelica.
During her career, she became an Argentine citizen as most soap operas were filmed in Argentina. Currently residing in Palm Beach, Florida, she lives with her son Gianfranco from whom she divorced in 2005. Her parents are Grecia Mieussens and Lisandro Ernesto Colmenares.
