Grace Van Dien is an American actress, model and producer. She is best known for her role as Robin Maxwell in the Syfy original series V and her role in the film Starship: Rising.
Van Dien was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, the daughter of Diane, a talent agent, and Richard Van Dien, Sr., an orthopedic surgeon. Her paternal grandfather was of Dutch descent. She has two older sisters, Christina and Elizabeth, and a younger brother named Nicholas.
Van Dien’s first acting job was in the soap opera The Guiding Light playing Lizzie Spaulding at age five. After high school she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career full-time. In L.A., she met writer/director Jack Perez who gave her a role in his film Some Guy Who Kills People which led to more acting roles.
