About Grace Slick
Grace Slick, born on October 30, 1939 in Highland Park, Illinois, is a pop singer known for her role as the frontwoman of Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship. She gained fame for her iconic track “White Rabbit” and has also released solo albums, with Dreams in 1980 being one of them.
Prior to her music career, she attended Finch College in New York and the University of Miami before starting with her first group called The Great Society.
Grace Slick earned the nickname The Acid Queen due to her psychedelic lyrics and references to the novel Go Ask Alice which discusses drug addiction.
In terms of family life, she married Jerry Slick on August 26, 1961. After their divorce in 1971, she later remarried Skip Johnson on November 29, 1976. Grace also had a daughter named China with Jefferson Airplane guitarist Paul Kantner whom she dated from 1969 to 1975.
