Grace Jones, born on May 19, 1948 in Spanish Town, Jamaica, is a well-known pop singer, actress and model. She is famous for her hit single “Pull Up to the Bumper,” which reached #2 on the U.S. Dance Chart. Other notable singles include “I’ve Seen That Face Before (Libertango),” “Private Life,” and “Slave to the Rhythm.”
Prior to her music career, Jones attended church three times a week while being raised by her grandparents. She later studied theater at Syracuse University before pursuing a successful modeling career.
In addition to her achievements in music and modeling, Grace Jones played the villain May Day in the James Bond film A View to a Kill.
Her personal life includes marriages to producer Chris Stanley in 1989 and bodyguard Atila Altaunbay in 1996. She also had one son named Paulo with graphic designer Jean-Paul Goude
