About Goh Liu Ying
Goh Liu Ying (born May 30, 1989) is a Malaysian badminton player known for her success in doubles competitions. Alongside longtime partner Chan Peng Soon, she has consistently ranked among the world’s best doubles players throughout her career.
Launched to fame by winning numerous tournaments, Goh clinched titles such as the 2010 Badminton Asia Championships and the 2016 New Zealand Open. She started playing badminton at age 10 and later attended the Bukit Jalil Sports School at age 13.
In a significant achievement, Goh Liu Ying and Chan Peng Soon made history in 2012 by becoming the first Malaysian mixed doubles pair ever to qualify for the Olympic Games. Their efforts culminated in securing a silver medal during the 2016 Olympics.
Off-court, Goh comes from a family of two younger brothers and was previously involved with fellow badminton player Ong Jian Guo for nine years.
