About Glenda Farrell
Glenda Farrell (born June 30, 1904 in Enid, Oklahoma) was a prominent movie actress known for her prolific work during the 1930s. She is recognized for her roles in iconic films such as I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang and Gold Diggers of 1937, as well as starring in the 1931 film Little Caesar.
Prior to achieving fame on the silver screen, Farrell began her career in theater at age seven and notably portrayed Little Eva in a production of Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
In the ’40s, her career faced challenges but she successfully staged a comeback, ultimately earning an Emmy Award for her performance on the TV series Ben Casey in 1963. Additionally, she married vaudeville performer Jack Durant in 1931.
