About Gillian Philip
Gillian Philip, born on July 2, 1964 in Glasgow, Scotland, is a renowned children’s author. She has made a name for herself with her Rebel Angels series and also delves into crime fiction with works such as Crossing The Line and The Opposite of Amber. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, she held various roles including hotel chambermaid, typesetter, theatre usherette, barmaid, radio presenter, hotel wrangler and sales rep. Additionally she was a singer in a Celtic-Caribbean band in Barbados.
In 2012 Gillian was invited to join the Erin Hunter team where she contributed to the Survivors series about dogs in the post-apocalyptic world. She also authored the Darke Academy series under the pseudonym Gabriella Poole.
She lives with her family in a scenic valley located in the north-east Highlands of Scotland alongside numerous pets.
