Gillian Flynn (born February 24, 1971) is an American novelist hailing from Kansas City, Missouri. She gained widespread recognition for her third novel, Gone Girl, which was later adapted into a feature film in 2014 and directed by David Fincher. Notably, Flynn wrote the screenplay for the film and earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Screenplay.
Before her successful career as a novelist and screenwriter, Flynn worked as a television critic for Entertainment Weekly. She obtained undergraduate degrees in English and Journalism from the University of Kansas before pursuing her Master’s degree at Medill School of Journalism.
