About Gianna Nannini
Gianna Nannini (born June 14, 1956) is an Italian pop singer and songwriter best known for her 1986 hit “Bello e Impossibile.” She gained European success with her 1984 album Puzzle, which reached the top ten on Italian, German, Austrian, and Swiss charts. Before pursuing music full-time, she studied philosophy at the University of Siena and participated in Greenpeace protests.
Nannini released her first single “America” in 1979 before achieving moderate success across Europe. She wrote and performed the official song for the FIFA World Cup in 1990 and has collaborated with various international artists. Additionally, she made headlines after posing on the cover of Italian Vanity Fair displaying her pregnant belly with a shirt reading “God Is A Woman.” Nannini is also known as the older sister of retired Formula One racer Alessandro Nannini and welcomed a daughter named Penelope Jane Charlotte in November 2010.
