About Ghada Saba
Ghada Saba (born November 10, 1973) is a Jordanian film-maker and women’s rights activist. She is celebrated as Jordan’s first female cinema director, known for writing, directing, and producing over 250 documentaries and short films.
In 2016, she began producing a weekly report on “Ro’ya TV” which highlights the successes of local women. In addition to her work in film-making, she founded No Budget Films in 2004 with the aim of supporting aspiring young filmmakers.
Prior to gaining recognition in her own right, Saba worked as an assistant director to renowned Egyptian filmmaker Youssef Chahine. Her accomplishments have seen her elected as one of UN Women’s Beijing Gender Equality Champions in 2015 and honored with a Woman Who Soar award in 2016.
She has two daughters.
