Gertrude Olmstead (born November 13, 1897) was an American movie actress from Illinois. She rose to fame during the silent-film era and appeared in over 40 films, including notable titles such as The Monster (1925) and The Boob (1926).
Olmstead made her silver screen debut at the age of 17 and quickly gained recognition for her talent. However, like many stars of the silent-film era, she struggled to transition to talking pictures.
She was married to MGM director Robert Z. Leonard for nearly 40 years until his passing.
