Georgie Stone is an Australian movie actress known for her role as Mackenzie Hargreaves, the first transgender character on the Australian soap opera Neighbours. She is also a prominent transgender activist, notable for being involved in a pivotal case that set a precedent leading to changes in Australian law granting families access to stage one treatment for children.
Born on May 20th, 2000 in Australia, Georgie Stone made her first public appearance on the investigative journalism program Four Corners in 2014 to discuss her experiences with court and changing the law. Subsequently, she was featured on Australian Story in 2016.
Throughout her career, Georgie has received numerous awards acknowledging her activism and contributions to society. Amongst these honors are the 2016 GLBTI Person of the Year by GLOBE Community Awards and the 2019 Hero of the Year by Australian LGBTI Awards.
