Georgia Engel was born on July 28, 1948, in Washington, DC, United States. She is a TV actress known for her role as Georgette Franklin Baxter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and as Pat MacDougall on Everybody Loves Raymond.
Prior to her iconic roles, Georgia Engel appeared in films such as Milos Forman’s Taking Off and Jacques Deray’s The Outside Man. She unexpectedly joined the cast of The Mary Tyler Moore Show after what was meant to be a one-time appearance.
Following the conclusion of Everybody Loves Raymond, she transitioned to stage performances and starred alongside Barbara Eden in a female-centric adaptation of The Odd Couple. In addition, her sister Robin Ruth won the Miss Hawaii pageant in 1967.
