Georgi Kay is an Australian indie pop singer who gained fame for her song “In My Mind” from the 2013 EP of the same name. Born on March 15, 1993, in England, she also appeared in the Jane Campion mini-series Top of the Lake aired on HBO and BBC in 2013. Prior to her solo career, she played guitar and sang in the rock group The Vains. Her notable achievements include winning Best Dance Release at the 2012 Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards and receiving an APRA award for “In My Mind.” Additionally, Axwell’s remix of the song earned a Grammy nomination in 2013. Georgi Kay has toured Australia with Ed Sheeran and released her LP titled Backwardsforwards in 2011. She was born in the UK but grew up in Perth and Melbourne.
