About Fujiko Yamamoto
Fujiko Yamamoto (born December 11, 1931) is a Japanese film and stage actress known for her work in over 100 films from the 1950s to the 1960s. She gained recognition by winning the first Grand Prix of Miss Nippon in 1950.
Before pursuing acting, Yamamoto learned traditional Japanese dance from Rokunosuke Hanayagi of the Rokuju Hanayagi and graduated from Kyoto Oki High School.
In 1959, she received the Blue Ribbon Award for Best Actress in recognition of her talents on screen.
Yamamoto married Takeharu Yamamoto in 1962, and their son Shigeharu was born in 1968.
