Freema Agyeman is a British TV actress born on March 20, 1979, in London, England. She is best known for her role as companion Martha Jones on the popular sci-fi series Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood. Additionally, she portrayed Amanita Caplan in the Netflix original series Sense8 and joined the cast of New Amsterdam in 2018.
Prior to her acting career, Agyeman studied drama and performing arts at Middlesex University. Growing up, she excelled in martial arts, horseback riding, and gymnastics.
