About Frances Goodrich
Frances Goodrich, born on December 21, 1890 in New Jersey, was a notable screenwriter whose work earned her four Oscar nominations. Some of her most well-known films include The Thin Man, After the Thin Man (1936), Father of the Bride (1950) and seven Brides for seven Brothers. In addition to her success in film, she also won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Prior to her career in screenwriting, Goodrich graduated from Vassar College in 1912 and later attended the New York School of Social Work. She collaborated with her husband Albert Hackett on various projects and together they achieved acclaim with their play The Diary of Anne Frank, which won them both a Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
