Frances Foster (born June 11, 1924) is an American stage actress known for her work in numerous theater productions. She garnered attention with her performance and received the prestigious Obie Award in 1985, along with two AUDELCO Awards for her contributions to the arts.
Prior to gaining recognition as a performer, Foster studied at the American Theater Wing in Manhattan from 1949 through 1952. Notably, she was a founding member of the Negro Ensemble Company and remained associated with it from 1967 until 1986.
Foster was married to Robert Stansfield Foster from 1941 until their separation in 1977.
